Traditional network elements have 1-1 relationships between hardware and firmware, or sometimes have internal redundancy. This talk describes how dis-aggregation of network elements allows applying cloud software strategies to firmware type applications. By creating more flexible relationships between hardware and software, new availability and management models are possible.
